Carlsbad: Small Plane Lands On Busy Freeway

12.12.2019 | 7:11 PM | CARLSBAD – A small airplane made an emergency landing on the I-5 Freeway, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of an aircraft down on the southbound I-5 Freeway just south of Tamarack Avenue around 7:11 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a 1972 Cessna 182-P occupied by two individuals that had landed on the freeway damaging its forward landing gear.

Neither the pilot or passenger aboard the aircraft were injured.

The reason for the unconventional was not immediately clear.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the emergency landing.
