Carlsbad: Shooting Leaves Teen Dead, Suspects Arrested

07.23.2020 | 7:25 PM | CARLSBAD – An 18-year-old man was shot to death by a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man who were both in custody, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting with a victim down in an apartment complex located near Caringa Way and Alicante Road around 7:25 PM.

Units arriving on scene found an 18-year-old male down in the courtyard suffering from a gunshot wound.

Firefighter paramedics treated and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Officers later arrested a 16-year-old girl and 19-year-old Gerardo Gonzales, of San Marcos, in connection with the shooting.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
