Carlsbad: Firefighters Rescue Dogs From Burning Home

03.21.2019 | 12:19 PM | CARSLBAD – Firefighters stopped at nothing to rescue several dogs from a burning home, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a residential fire in the 3900 block of Jame Drive around 12:19 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located a single-story home with heavy smoke and fire showing from the garage that was spreading into the main living area.

Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack and entered the burning home to ensure nobody was inside.

During their search firefighters located two dogs inside the burning home and rescued them. Using oxygen masks firefighters were able to revive one dog however the second succumbed to its injuries.

A third dog was able to make it out safely with its owner.

The fire was extinguished within 45 minutes however the home was considered a total loss.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was being evaluated on scene.
