Carlsbad: Fire Engulfs Apartment

01.03.2019 | 3:54 AM | CARLSBAD – An apartment was destroyed after a fire broke out, Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at an apartment building in the 1000 block of Chinquapin Avenue around 3:54 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located heavy fire showing from an apartment and began efforts to attack the blaze.

Within 30 minutes firefighters achieved knockdown of the flames, preventing them from spreading to adjacent apartments.

Initial reports indicated a possible person trapped inside however no residents from the unit have located.

Investigators were responding to the scene determine the cause of the fire.
