Carjacking Suspect Taken Into Custody | Newport Beach

10.04.2022 | 4:00 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – Police responded to a carjacking suspect that barricaded himself in a home. The carjacking occurred at Fashion Island, police said. The suspect “ditched” the car and grabbed another vehicle and led police in a short pursuit before abandoning it and running away in the Dover Shore area and barricading himself in a home. According to a construction worker on scene, the man tried to change his clothes to match the construction crew to blend in while he was hiding from police.
