Carjacking Leads To Shooting
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 11-22-24 | Around 6:45 p.m.
LOCATION: 8103 Martin Luther King Blvd and 610 Freeway (East Loop near Clinton)
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- Two males were shot: one grazed on the cheek and the other shot in the lower body. Both are expected to recover.
- Police received an initial report of a carjacking in the Southeast area near Martin Luther King Blvd.
- The victim of the carjacking tracked his stolen vehicle and cell phone, which were inside the car, using another vehicle.
- The chase ended on the 610 Freeway, just north of Clinton Drive, where the car stopped, and a shootout occurred.
- Multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
- A third vehicle involved in the incident left the scene and is believed to be tied to the original car theft.
- The carjacking victim returned to the original Martin Luther King Blvd location in another vehicle, where police found him in possession of narcotics.
- Maybe drug-related but investigators are still investigating the connection between the car theft, shootout, and suspects.
