Car Thieves Crash After Pursuit | San Diego
05.06.2022 | 8:56 AM | SAN DIEGO This morning at approx 6:30 am, an employee of Clayco Electric Inc. had his work truck and trailer stolen from the parking lot of the 7/24 Fitness Center in the College Grove Shopping Center. The employee used a tracking device for his I-phone’s earbuds and called for a fellow employee to come and pick him up. They were able to track the truck and trailer to the College Area on Collwood Ave. and found the male suspect unloading the tools from the trailer into the back of the truck. The trailer contained over $100,000 in tools. When the suspect saw the other company truck with the men arrive, he jumped in the truck and rammed the other truck. The suspect then drove away and abandoned the stolen truck on Euclid Ave after driving it for several miles to the south. The suspect then was met by a female driving a silver Cadillac, who took some of the tools out of the truck and put them in the Cadillac, along with the backpack belonging to the original employee. The backpack had the I-phone earbuds inside and the employees were able to continue to track the suspects. The employees found the suspects inside of the McDonald’s parking lot in the Cadillac. When the suspects saw the employees, they backed up and rammed the employees’ truck and then went forward of a cement divider. The Cadillac then hit a McDonald’s employee’s parked car and sent it into a parked truck and trailer. The Cadillac ended up on top of the two other vehicles. The two suspects fled with the female heading south and the male running across the street into the parking lot of the Manolo Farmer’s Market with the two employees chasing him. They chased him and a fight broke out. The employees were able to subdue the suspect until the Police arrived. The male was taken into custody. The female was possibly detained at the nearby trolley station. The Cadillac was reported stolen out of Carlsbad. Several license plates including a temporary Texas plate were found in the car.
