Car Thief Gets Lippy With Photojournalist

10.08.2020 | 10:30 AM | CHULA VISTA – The suspect stole the red BMW this morning somewhere in Los Angeles County.

The owners iPhone was inside of the car, and as the local law enforcement was taking the report, the iPhone pinged the location of the car down in South San Diego County.

CHP started to close into the location of the ping. The car went down the I-5 south and then to the eastbound I-905. It turned north onto SR-125.

The SDSO’s ASTREA helicopter discovered the car in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista, and the officers found the vehicle and pulled it over doing a “Hot Stop”.

The suspect surrendered after pulling over.
