At approximately 12:30 a.m. on May 31, 2026, Los Angeles Police officers responded to a traffic collision near Spring Street and West Elmyra Street in Chinatown.
Authorities say a red sedan veered off the roadway and crashed into several concrete safety pillars positioned outside a restaurant.
The vehicle continued through the outdoor area, striking and destroying planters, a canopy structure, and a fire hydrant.
Emergency crews evaluated the occupants at the scene, and one female was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash caused significant damage to the restaurant’s exterior seating area and surrounding property.
Investigators have not determined what caused the driver to lose control, and it remains unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
