Car Plunges Off Freeway Bridge, Driver Survives | San Diego
03.10.2021 | 6:24 AM | SAN DIEGO – The male driver of a semi-truck hauling 2 dirt trailers had a tire blow out and he lost control on the bridge over the San Diego River. He hit the female driver of a car and she went over the side of the bridge. She landed approximately 50-60 ft down into the river and luckily landed on her passenger side. 3 male Good Samaritans went down to rescue her and broke the window, cut the seat belt, and pulled her out. Santee firefighters were able to walk her out of the riverbed and she was transported with minor injuries to a local hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was checked out by Paramedics and released.
