Car Hangs Off Edge at Mission Inn Hotel Parking Garage

- Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department responded to reports that a car that was parked in a parking garage at the Mission Inn Hotel had gone through a wall and was hanging off the edge.
- Riverside Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene and requested technical rescue to assist with the extrication of the patients from the vehicle.
- The firefighters were able to quickly get the two occupants out of the vehicle.
- Both occupants were transported to a local area hospital suffering from unknown, but non-life-threatening injuries.
- At this time, according to police, the driver of the vehicle accidentally hit the gas and had the vehicle in drive instead of reverse, causing the vehicle to go through the chain barrier and fall over the edge, hitting a cement wall, keeping it from falling further.
- It isn’t clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
