Car Fire Shuts Down I-405 | Seal Beach

02.35.2022 | 4:30 AM | SEAL BEACH – Around 2:30 AM Saturday morning, a 911 call was made to CHP dispatchers advising that a car had caught fire on the northbound 405 freeway just before the Seal Beach off ramp. Arriving CHP officers found a silver Toyota Camry with the engine bay fully engulfed in flames. CHP units immediately shut down all lanes of the freeway. Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived minutes later and immediately worked to put out the fire. The driver and passenger were able to safely evacuate the vehicle.
