Car Crashes into Restaurant’s Patio

DETAILS:

1. the female driver of the car told the CHP that her brakes failed as she attempted to park in front of the “Bankhead Mississippi Cooking” restaurant in the “Bonita Grande Plaza” strip mall.
2. Her car went into the patio area hitting the beams that support the roofing, causing the roofing to collapse.
3. No one was eating on the patio at the time.
4. The woman was not injured.
5. The CHP officer backed the car out of the patio and the brakes were working.
6. It’s believed that she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal and panicked when she accelerated forward.
7. The patio area is not usable at this time.
