Car Crashes Into Fire Hydrant And Pole, Killing Driver | San Bernardino

04.17.2022 | 12:47 AM | SAN BERNARDINO – On April 17th, 2022, just before 1 AM, San Bernardino PD, County Fire, and AMR responded to a reported traffic collision near the intersection of 9th St. and Bobbett Dr. in the city of San Bernardino.

Officers arrived and located one party trapped in the vehicle with a broken hydrant and downed power lines laying on the vehicle.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and requested Edison and the water company to respond to turn off the power and water.

After about an hour, the power and water were shut off.

Firefighters and paramedics assessed the driver and pronounced them deceased.

Witness claimed the driver was at a high rate of speed at the time of the impact.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by San Bernardino PD.

9th St will be closed in both directions for an unknown duration.
