Camaro Driver Slams into Palm Tree Starting Fire

  1. Witnesses stated that the male driver of the Camaro was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before he left the traffic lanes and slammed into a palm tree on the right shoulder.
  2. Several Good Samaritans stopped to try and aid the driver, but he was trapped inside the wreckage.
  3. The engine was ejected from the car and was on fire between two palm trees.
  4. The fire spread to the trees right before the Firefighters arrived.
  5. You can hear the Good Samaritans panicking, still wanting to help the injured driver.
  6. The firefighters arrived and started to put out the fire, and other firefighters started to work on extricating the victim.
  7. It took approx 20 minutes to pull the male out of the car; he had major injuries but was awake.
  8. He was bleeding from his abdomen and was rushed to a local hospital.
  9. The CHP is investigating and believes that DUI is a factor in this collision.
