CalFire Rescues Woman That Fell Off Cliff

LOCATION: 5901 Cabrillo Highway
AREA/CITY: San Mateo County Coast
DETAILS:

  1. Just before 6 PM, first responders responded to the area of Devils Slide for a reported cliff rescue.
  2. Due to difficult access, a CalFire helicopter was requested to assist in the rescue.
  3. Just after 7:00 PM, the helicopter arrived, deployed a hoist rescue technician, and began a rescue operation.
  4. Firefighters retrieved and transferred the victim to an ambulance, where she was treated and transported.
  5. Witnesses reported that the victim fell approximately 100 feet before landing on a ledge.
  6. The victim appeared to be conscious and breathing
  7. The operation concluded at around 7:45 PM
  8. The victim only sustained minor injuries.
