Burned Car May Be Linked To Fatal LA Shooting

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on May 17, 2026, officers responded to a fatal shooting near Slauson Avenue and Holmes Avenue in the Florence area of Los Angeles.

Authorities say a man was shot near a taco stand just north of Slauson Avenue and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators initially searched for a white sedan believed to be connected to the shooting.

Later in the investigation, officers located a burned vehicle believed to be tied to the homicide a short distance away. Witnesses reported seeing a man park the white vehicle, set it on fire, and flee the area on foot.

According to investigators at the scene, at least one suspect may have suffered burn injuries, though additional details have not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
