Burglar Rescued After Hanging From Rooftop | Chula Vista

04.19.2021 | 7:30 AM | CHULA VISTA – A woman called 911 to report that she could hear a man screaming for help inside an empty store. Officers arrived and looked into the store and could see a male dangling from the ceiling approx 25-30 feet up. The officer broke through the front door and saw that the male was entangled in copper wiring.

The officers made their way to the roof and found that the male had been in the act of stealing the copper wiring from an air conditioning unit and had tripped and fallen through a skylight.

It was that very copper wiring he was stealing that saved his life as he became entangled in approx 40 of the copper wires. The officers pulled him up to the roof and the firefighters had to use a ladder to pull him off of the roof. He was transported to Mercy Hospital for his injuries. He will be arrested on several criminal charges.
