Buena Park: Fire Crews Escape Injury As Entire Station Burns
01.12.2017 | 3:30 AM | BUENA PARK – An fire obliterated Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Station 61 but the crew sleeping inside escaped without injury, Thursday morning.
A fire erupted inside the fire station located at 8081 Western Avenue in the city of Buena Park at approximately 3:30 AM. Firefighters were reportedly awakened by a loud explosion before noticing the flames.
The entire crew of firefighters, who were sleeping inside at the time of the incident, managed to escape the fire house without injury.
Unfortunately, the fire quickly developed and engulfed the fire station, including numerous apparatus and equipment inside.
Hours later, at 6:00 AM, firefighters were continuing to douse the blaze from the outside.
The fire station, including approximately $1.5 million dollars worth of equipment were destroyed in the fire.
