Brush Fire Scorches 3 Acres in Whittier
12.08.2020 | 12:11 PM | WHITTIER – On December 8, 2020 at approximately 12:11 PM, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a vegetation fire in the area of Durfee Ave & Rosemead Blvd in the unincorporated area of the City of Whittier. A three acre brush fire believed to have originated from a homeless encampments scorched three acres of vegetation. Authorities responded to the area after multiple calls regarding a smoke column rising from the area. Multiple air water dripping helicopters and two planes assisted in the firefight.
