Brush Fire Chars 71 Acres, Forcing Evacuations | San Bernardino

09.22.2021 | 11:30 AM | SAN BERNARDINO – Firefighters responded to a reported brush fire. Firefighters arrived to find a 1 to 2 acre brush fire. Firefighters attacked the flames from the ground and the air. The fire quickly spread to over 70 acres before firefighters were able to stop forward progress. Evacuations were ordered for the area including 23 patients at a dialysis clinic. The cause of the fire is believed to have started when a driver with a flat tire attempted to get off the freeway and sparks from the rim ignited the brush.
