Brush Fire Chars 150 Acres of Vegetation | Lake Casitas

6.14.2021 | Approx. 4:00 PM | VENTURA COUNTY – A 20 acre brush fire quickly grew into an 150 acre brush fire, with multiple firefighters both on the ground and in the sky on hand to fight it Monday afternoon.

Officials responded to reports of a brush fire that exploded to 20 acres near the Lake Casitas Recreational Center Monday afternoon.

When units arrived on scene they began immediate fire attack, calling in Copters and air support along with crews from other agencies.

The fire spread to 150 acres with evacuations going out for a couple houses along Casitas Pass Road and Santa Ana Road.

It is unclear how the fire started.

Crews are continuing to monitor the area for hot spots today, as forward progress has been stopped on the blaze.
