Boyle Heights: Shooting Leaves Man Dead

04.10.2020 | 7:57 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man was shot to death while walking down a sidewalk in an apparently unprovoked attack, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting  with a victim down near the intersection of Cincinnati Street and North Evergreen Avenue in the Boyle Heights area around 7:57 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male victim down on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Firefighter paramedics attempted to perform live-saving measures on the man but pronounced him deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate the victim, a man in his 30s, was walking down the sidewalk when a gunman jumped in front of him and opened fire before fleeing south through on alley on foot.

A perimeter was established shortly after the shooting occurred but no arrests were immediately reported.

Officers believe the fatal shooting may be gang-related.
