INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2-23-24 9:00 am
LOCATION: Iris Ave Trolley Station (Iris Ave)
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
- Immigrant Assistance groups (NGOs) have run out of money to support the thousands of people who illegally entered the United States along the San Diego section of the U.S./Mexico border.
- These groups housed and fed these people and then helped them get transportation via buses and planes to where they were heading.
- The U.S. Border Patrol is now dumping these immigrants onto the streets of San Diego, where they must fend for themselves.
- Volunteers at this dump site are trying to inform the immigrants how to get to the airport or bus station.
- Taxis were seen bartering with the immigrants for rides to the airport and the bus station.
- The Border Patrol will continue to dump these people off all day with no end in sight.
