Border Fire Stopped at 12 Acres | Canyon City

01.13.2021 | 1:11 PM | CANYON CITY – A brush fire started behind a home and briefly threatened it. A red flag warning has been issued and the winds are beginning to pick up now. The fire burnt up a hill and was difficult to reach by firefighters on the ground due to the steep and rocky terrain.

Aircraft was heavily used and the forward rate of spread was stopped at 12 acres. The crews will stay to mop up the area, and there were no reported injuries. CalFire Fire Investigators are on scene and looking for the cause of the fire.
