Bonsall: Firefighters Battle Stubborn Vehicle Fire After Crash

01.18.2020 | 9:01 PM | BONSALL – A vehicle burst into flames after crashing down an embankment, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a fiery crash near the intersection of Olive Hill Road and Olive Hill Trail around 9:01 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located an abandoned vehicle engulfed in flames and began efforts to extinguish the flames.

Flames from the car spread to the fuel tank making extinguishing the fire difficult.

The driver of the car is believed to have lost control before crashing down an embankment and fleeing on foot.

Officers didn’t immediately locate the driver.

A hazardous materials team was requested due to the amount of fuel that leaked from the crashed vehicle.
