At approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 9, 2026, Riverside firefighters and police officers responded to a traffic collision at a Wells Fargo branch on Alessandro Boulevard in Riverside.
When crews arrived, they found a BMW completely inside the bank after crashing through an exterior wall.
Despite the extensive damage to the building, authorities reported that no injuries occurred as a result of the crash.
According to preliminary information, the driver was already dealing with a prior injury and was using crutches. Investigators believe the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to surge forward into the bank.
Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
Bank management responded to the scene, and contractors were called in to secure the damaged building.
The crash caused major structural damage to the Wells Fargo branch, but no customers or employees were injured.
