Blaze Destroys Multiple Structures

Phoenix firefighters battled a late night barn fire that lasted into the early morning hours.

Crews were originally dispatched around 11:30pm for multiple reports of a barn that was on fire in the area of 3rd Ave and Fremont. Large flames could be seen from a distance prior to crews arriving on scene. Firefighters laid supply lines from multiple locations to surround the incident and setup “big water” operations. Multiple large diameter hose streams were used by crews from elevated positions to subdue the flames. Fire companies were able to isolate the main body of fire to the general area of origin, preventing fire from spreading to nearby homes in the neighborhood.

There have been no civilian or firefighter injuries reported at this time. The cause of the fire is unknown, investigators will be working to identify the source.
