Black Jeep Strikes Pedestrian During Police Chase
At approximately 11:06 p.m. on June 13, 2026, Los Angeles Police officers were pursuing a black Jeep westbound on Vernon Avenue near San Pedro Street in South Los Angeles.
During the pursuit, the Jeep allegedly struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Broadway.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been released.
Following the collision, officers temporarily lost sight of the Jeep in the area of Vernon and Broadway.
A short time later, the vehicle was spotted again on the 10 Freeway near Downtown Los Angeles, prompting officers to resume the pursuit.
The chase was later terminated, and authorities believe the suspect or suspects were able to evade capture.
Investigators continue working to identify those involved and locate the vehicle connected to the incident.
