Biola University Parking Structure Fire | La Mirada

03.14.2021 | 6:07 PM | LA MIRADA – A Volkswagen was heavily burned and damaged after catching fire on the third floor of the Biola university parking structure Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to the campus shortly after 6 this evening regarding a person reporting their vehicle catching fire.

Arriving, they located the Volkswagen bus style vehicle on the third floor well involved in flames. Firefighters had difficulty gaining access to the blaze due to the low clearance inside the structure. Firefighters had to run hose lines up the side of the structure in order to get water on the blaze

It took at least 15 minutes to achieve knockdown, as the structure created heavy smoke conditions and the blaze kept reigniting.

No one was injured in the blaze, and no other vehicles were reported to have been damaged in the blaze.

The parking structure was closed to students briefly as firefighters continued to ensure all hot spots from the vehicle were out.
