Big Rig Overturns Onto Car on 91 Freeway

At approximately 3:00 am on April 1st, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to a major traffic collision on the westbound 91 Freeway at the 605 Freeway in Cerritos.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a big rig that had overturned and landed on top of a passenger vehicle. Firefighters cut open the crushed vehicle in an attempt to locate the driver, who was not immediately found at the scene.

The driver of the big rig was not injured.

All lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway were shut down as crews worked the scene, with traffic diverted to the 605 Freeway in both directions.

The investigation remained ongoing.
