Bicyclist Struck And Killed by Pickup Truck | Simi Valley

12.24.2021 | 7:08 PM | SIMI VALLEY – Simi Valley Police officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist collision on Royal Avenue west of First Street.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the vehicle and the bicyclist.

The bicyclist was in the roadway and officers immediately started rendering first aid.

Ventura County Fire and AMR arrived and continued life saving measures.

The bicyclist was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was in the #2 westbound lane of Royal Avenue when he was struck by the vehicle who was also traveling west in the #2 westbound lane of Royal.

The investigating officers were able to determine the driver of the vehicle was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

At this point in the investigation, officers have not determined whether the bicyclist was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
