Beverly Crest: Man Rescued By Helicopter After Crashing High-End Sports Car

09.15.2019 | 9:25 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man had to be rescued using a fire department helicopter after crashing a high-end sports car on Mulholland Drive, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports from a witness who advised they saw headlights from a vehicle tumble down a cliff in the 13700 block of Mulholland Drive in the Beverly Cres area around 9:25 PM.

Units arriving on scene attempted a search from the ground but could not locate the crashed vehicle due to steep terrain and pitch-black conditions.

A fire department helicopter responded to assist the search efforts and located a high-end sports car, possibly a McLaren, pinned against a tree at the bottom of the cliff.

The helicopter lowered a rescuer down the scene of the wreck where an adult male in his 50s was located outside the vehicle.

Rescuers hoisted the man to the safety of the helicopter before transporting him to an area hospital for treatment.

Additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash and exact model of the vehicle involved were not immediately available.
