Bell Gardens: Carbon Monoxide Exposure Hospitalizes Eight People

01.15.2019 | 9:17 AM | BELL GARDENS – Eight people were hospitalized, two critically, after being exposed to carbon monoxide, Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the reported chemical exposure in the 5500 block of Clara Street around 9:17 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a total of eight people inside a residential structure suffering from exposure an unknown substance.

Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) teams confirmed the presence of carbon monoxide in the structure.

Firefighter paramedics treated a total of eight victims on scene before transporting them to area hospitals in varying condition.

The cause of the carbon monoxide exposure was under investigation.
