Backyard Fire Scorches Freeway Sign | Downey

04.19.21 | 12:50 AM | DOWNEY – A portion of a backyard caught on fire, destroying a fence and other property items and damaging a freeway on-ramp sign.

Downey police and Firefighters rolled to Bellflower Blvd north of the I-105 regarding an unknown outdoor fire. Arriving, units located heavy fire coming from the side of a backyard along Bellflower Blvd.

There was a report of propane tanks exploding within the side yard.

Firefighters made quick work of the blaze while police were seen trying to evacuate the homeowner.

It’s unclear what started the blaze, however no injuries were reported.
