Azusa: Shots Fired After Suspect Fights With Officer

12.21.2018 | 1:20 AM | AZUSA – Police were searching for a burglary suspect who police shot at, Friday morning.

Police attempted to stop a burglary suspect near the intersection of Irwindale and McKinley avenues around 1:20 AM.

During the stop an altercation between the suspect and an officer occurred, prompting the officer to open fire on the suspect.

The suspect is not believed to have been hit by the gunfire but fled shortly after and has not yet been located.

Officials set up a perimeter to search for the suspect but were not immediately successful.

No description of the outstanding suspect was immediately available but authorities say the man may be armed with a firearm.
