Azusa: Fiery Crash Leaves One Dead

08.21.2020 | 2:17 AM | AZUSA – A fiery crash left one person dead and another injured, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire on the eastbound I-210 Freeway at Azusa Avenue around 2:17 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a Mercedes-Benz SUV that had collided with a tree after veering off the roadway and down an embankment.

The vehicle was engulfed in flames and the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene once the blaze was extinguished.

A passenger from the vehicle was able able to exit the vehicle before it was consumer by flames and was later transported to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown condition.

A female was scene at the scene being escorted away but it was unclear if she was a transient living in the area or somehow connected to the incident.
