Awful Fatal Christmas Morning Wreck | Phoenix

12.25.2021 | 3:00 AM | PHOENIX – Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a serious single vehicle wreck in a North Phoenix residential neighborhood near 24th Street and Saguaro Drive around 3:00 AM Christmas morning. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle into a power pole with 2 victims trapped. The collision snapped the power pole at the base knocking down live power lines which complicated rescue efforts and knocked out power to an estimated 1500 APS customers. One male patient was extracted and transported in critical condition / level one trauma to Honor Health Sunnyslope and a second female patient has been pronounced deceased according to fire crews. Phoenix Police are currently on scene investigating the wreck. 24th Street is expected to remain closed throughout the morning between Saguaro Drive and Larkspur Drive.
