Avatar Stars Dante Basco And Michaela Jill Murphy Join Tokyo X

Thousands of people gathered in Houston for Tokyo X, a two-day celebration bringing Japanese culture, anime, gaming, food, music, fashion and automotive culture together under one roof.

The festival returned September 26-27, 2026, at Reliant Center, filling more than 300,000 square feet with hundreds of vendors, exhibitors, artists, cultural organizations and brands.

Among the featured guests were “Avatar: The Last Airbender” voice actors Dante Basco, the voice of Prince Zuko, and Michaela Jill Murphy, the voice of Toph Beifong. The two sat down for an interview during the event, discussing their work on the beloved animated series and connecting with fans at Tokyo X.
Another major attraction was a rare gathering of four international voices of Goku from the “Dragon Ball” franchise, including Japanese voice actress Masako Nozawa, English voice actor Sean Schemmel, Latin American Spanish voice actor Mario Castañeda and Hindi voice actor Ankur Javeri.

The event also featured more than 1,000 authentic Japanese historical artifacts, including samurai armor, swords, artwork and other cultural pieces, along with cultural demonstrations throughout the weekend.
Hot Import Nights brought more than 100 custom and Japanese-inspired vehicles to the event, while attendees could also explore more than 40 Japanese food vendors, cosplay, gaming, a ramen eating contest, a Beyblade tournament and other live entertainment.

Sunday’s programming included a live performance by CODA, known for performing the opening theme “Bloody Stream” from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” Members of the USA Olympic fencing team were also among the festival’s featured guests.

Organizers expected more than 25,000 attendees and over 800 vendors, exhibitors, artists, cultural organizations and brands throughout the weekend.
