Authorities Search For Illegal Aliens in the Ocean & on The Beach | Imperial Beach

02.07.2021 | 12:15 AM | IMPERIAL BEACH – Whenever heavy fog hits the border fence, people attempt to climb over the border fence or swim around it in order to enter the U.S. illegally.

Twice today, firefighters had to rescue people who got caught in the barbed wire on top of the fencing.

Tonight, the USBP detained over a dozen people who swam around the fence that projects into the Pacific Ocean and were found on the beach, south of the city.

These people told the agents that there more immigrants out in the water in the dark.

The Border Patrol launched a boat and asked for assistance from the local lifeguards to help in searching for these people.

After approx. an hour’s search turned up with no rescues.
