Audi Slams Into Pole in South Whittier Deadly Crash
11.11.2020 | 10:35 PM | SOUTH WHITTIER – A male has died and five others were sent to area hospitals after a high speed crash left an Audi sedan wrapped against a traffic light pole Wednesday night.
Authorities responded to multiple reports regarding a multiple vehicle crash in the intersection of Carmenita Road & Imperial Highway just after 10:30 last night.
Arriving, firefighters located the white Audi sedan that had crashed into a black sedan, causing it to veer sideways into a traffic light pole. Two people were trapped inside.
Four other occupants were located outside the vehicle suffering from varying injuries, and additional rescue resources were requested to the scene.
After 20 minutes of extrication, a female was freed from the wreckage and transported in critical condition to a local trauma center.
The male trapped inside was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
The occupants of the black sedan sustained very minor injuries and declined medical transport.
Per a CHP sergeant, the occupants appeared to have all been young adults.
Drugs or alcohol impairment is still being investigated at this point.
