At Least Two Dead After Civilian Plane Crashes into Military Housing
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 5-22-25 3:47 am
LOCATION: 10257 Sample St, Murphy Canyon Military Housing
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
- A small civilian jet plane out of ,Kansas came down into the Military Housing this morning.
- It was supposed to land at Montgomery Field
- The pilot and another are dead. (8;52) & (9:49) in video
- Officers and firefighters are searching for others.
- 1 house was hit and caught on fire. It is destroyed.
- Over 20 vehicles caught fire that were parked along the streets and driveways.
- Military families were being evacuated in large numbers.

Update:
The plane was flying west towards Montgomery Field. It was a Cessna 550. The pilot hit a light pole on Santo Rd.
It went up and over several homes, before landing in front of one of them on Salmon St.
The plane then crossed the street hitting the home and vehicles on Sample St.
There may be a third victim as some body parts have been found.
100 residents are currently displaced.
