Arson Suspected In Scott Fire

DETAILS:

  1. On October 26th, 2024, at about 12:12 AM, San Bernardino County Fire, USFS, and CalFire responded to multiple reports of a vegetation fire on S Lytle Creek Rd and Middle Fork Rd in Lytle Creek.
  2. Units located a 20′ x 20′ spot possibly started by a road flare.
  3. That fire was extinguished, but a short time later, two more fires were south of their location on both sides of the roadway.
  4. One of those fires, the Scott Fire, took a run up the hillside and burned about 4-5 acres.
  5. These three fires started within about 30 minutes of each other in addition to the Ranger Fire on October 10th.
