Armed Suspect Shot Dead By South San Francisco Police

DETAILS:

  1. Police officers responded to an unknown call for service in the area of the Oyster Point Marina.
  2. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect holding a handgun and gave him commands at gunpoint, which the suspect ignored.
  3. Officers continued following the suspect, who refused to drop the weapon.
  4. The suspect continued walking away until eventually officers deployed 40 mm less lethal projectiles, which were ineffective, followed by officers discharging their firearms and shooting the suspect.
  5. Officers were able to disarm the suspect, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
  6. District Attorney, Police Inspectors, and numerous allied law enforcement agencies responded to assist with the investigation.
