- Police officers responded to an unknown call for service in the area of the Oyster Point Marina.
- Upon arrival, officers located a suspect holding a handgun and gave him commands at gunpoint, which the suspect ignored.
- Officers continued following the suspect, who refused to drop the weapon.
- The suspect continued walking away until eventually officers deployed 40 mm less lethal projectiles, which were ineffective, followed by officers discharging their firearms and shooting the suspect.
- Officers were able to disarm the suspect, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- District Attorney, Police Inspectors, and numerous allied law enforcement agencies responded to assist with the investigation.
