Armed Suspect Shot and Killed Outside Houston Hotel
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 9:10pm 2-22-26
LOCATION: 10050 Southwest Freeway (Comfort Inn)
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- At 9:10pm tonight west side officers responded to a shooting in progress in regards to a male shooting into a hotel room
- Officers arrived at 9:13pm
- Upon arrival there were several units on scene and were getting ready to go inside the building when they observed a male coming from the south side of the hotel
- They observed a male walking towards them with a rifle
- At that point officers started to give the male verbal commands to drop the weapon
- Suspect refused and at that point HPD officers discharged their firearms and the suspect was pronounced deceased on the scene
- A female complainant was found in one of the hotel rooms with a graze wound from gunfire
- No officers were injured tonight
- Investigation being conducted by the DAs office, homicide SIU, and RID
- No history on suspect
- Unknown what rifle was used
- Video shows several HPD units on scene including SWAT, a female being placed in a patrol car without handcuffs, numerous shell casings, evidence, evidence markers, and police covering body with white sheet (body not shown in video)
