Armed Pursuit Ends in Crash, Suspect Dead in Jurupa Valley
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on April 8, 2026, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a pursuit of a wanted suspect that spanned multiple freeways and surface streets through Jurupa Valley. Deputies initially located the suspect near Pats Ranch Road and Limonite Avenue around 2:08 p.m., but the vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit that continued onto the 10 and 15 freeways. Authorities reported the suspect was believed to be armed with a handgun during the chase.
The pursuit eventually ended near Bellegrave Avenue and Etiwanda Avenue, where the suspect stopped and later fled again, prompting a nearby school to be placed on lockdown as a precaution. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle using a grappler device, but it was unsuccessful. The pursuit ultimately concluded when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a wall near the 11000 block of Antigua Drive.
Deputies and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene and worked to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution. According to reports from the scene, the suspect later died. The circumstances surrounding the death have not been officially confirmed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
