Arleta: Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Pursuit

05.28.2020 | 12:30 AM | LOS ANGELES – A suspected DUI driver was under arrest after leading officers on a pursuit and tossing a gun from his vehicle, early Thursday morning.

Officers attempted to stop a blue Suzuki sedan on suspicion of DUI along the SR-14 Freeway in the Palmdale area around 12:30 PM.

The driver failed to yield to officers and tossed a firearm from his vehicle as he led officers on a pursuit that lasted about an hour.

The chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle became disabled near the intersection of Pierce Street and Sharp Avenue in the Arleta area.

A number of officers detained the driver without further incident and discovered a number of spent shall casings in the back of the car.

The circumstances surrounding the pursuit remain under investigation.
