Argument Turns Deadly At Houston Apartment Complex

At approximately 10:20 p.m. on May 28, 2026, Houston Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on South Kirkwood Road.

Responding officers located a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was found unconscious and unresponsive.

Houston Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

According to investigators, the victim and suspect were acquaintances who had become involved in an argument prior to the shooting.

Authorities said the suspect remained at the scene and waited for officers to arrive before being taken into custody.

As homicide detectives continued processing the scene, officials said charges had not yet been formally filed and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remained under investigation.

The Harris County Medical Examiner later removed the victim from the scene shortly after 3:15 a.m.

The investigation remains ongoing.
