Argument Leads To Shootout At A Large Gathering, Houston, TX

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-16-26 | ~4 a.m.
LOCATION: 13300 Cullen
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

  1. Officers responded to a shooting.
  2. A large gathering was taking place at the location.
  3. A verbal altercation became physical.
  4. A suspect began firing into the crowd.
  5. Multiple people in the crowd returned fire.
  6. Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
  7. Houston Fire Department personnel transported both men to a hospital.
  8. One of the men was pronounced deceased.
  9. A third man arrived at a hospital after being transported in a private vehicle.
  10. The third man’s injuries and condition were unknown.
  11. One of the surviving victims fired at the initial suspect and was shot during the exchange.
  12. The surviving victim who returned fire was not believed to have struck the suspect.
  13. Suspect ran across street to parking lot (per Lt. Ali via phone) and is not in custody.
