Apple Valley: Driver Dead After Crashing Into Big Rig

03.01.2020 | 8:12 PM | APPLE VALLEY – A woman was dead after crashing into the side of a big rig, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a big rig with a driver possibly trapped near the intersection of Dale Evans and Johnson road around 8:12 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a silver Ford sedan under the trailer of a big rig with a female driver trapped inside.

Firefighters worked to access the female driver but she was pronounced on scene.

Initial reports indicate the Ford was traveling northbound on Dale Evans Road when it ran stop sign and collided with the big rig as it traveled westbound on Johnson Road.

The intersection was closed while officers investigated the fatal crash.
